[Me-Tom-orphasis] - Welcome

In a world where everything we say and do online is preserved to be used against us at a later date, I just decided to be myself and let man do what he will.

MeWell, you’ve made it here; congratulations. In the massive world of user-driven interconnectivity we now live in, finding someone on the internet can be a mind numbing experience. With that in mind, if you’re one of those relatively few who are looking for me, well, this should make it easier. This is where I keep my digital life; I’m a photo buff, a book buff, a poetry buff, and all kinds of other buff things! (lol). I’ve been jacked-in to the net for eleven years now and most all of my jobs, projects, and interests keep me tied here in one way or the other.

Much like the top of my desk in the office my digital life is spread in a mish-mash across the web and blog-o-sphere. For two years I have been doing most of my ranting and raving at Scooby Central (no it’s not about the dog.. long story). If you’re interested in what’s been going on in that time, I encourage you to get a valium and then go visit it here.

The main purpose of this site is two fold:

  1. To host my blog. Read, comment, register to post yourself, etc. Make yourself at home!
  2. A place to host the web posts I made years ago, kind of a momento to where I’ve come from on the web and in my life. I’m slowly building these pages back from scratch in their original form. You can see them on the right side of this page.

If you’re a contact I’ve met recently on LinkedIn or one of the other networking sites, then welcome to my site. If you’re a professional of any sort who isn’t already using linked-in, I would seriously suggest you spend a few minutes and try out the site. I’ve met some very interesting and helpful professionals on this network in recent months.

Messngers: Drats! They have become an integral part of IT communications over the years. As a provider of outsourced managed IT services its pretty much required that I be listed on most of them. So, if you’d care to look me up on any of them, I encourage you to. I’m always interested in meeting new people and have had lots of luck lately reconnecting with friends from the past. So, here you go. You can use any of the methods below to reach me.

Yahoo My yahoo profile has been “alornmage” since about 1996, when I was a college student who was fascinated with a novel series I used to read. Hence, the name was born out of that book and the fact that I didn’t want my real name floating out there across the internet. Today, changing my name on yahoo would involve losing all the thousands of valuable breast enlargement emails that I’m graced with each morning, and we all know how important those are to my daily email routine! If you don’t actually know how to add me to your yahoo messenger, then we’re already experiencing communications difficulties and maybe you should just email instead! *grin*MessengerWindows Live Messenger: With the complete domination of the OS market by Microsoft came the inevitable Microsoft Messenger, later touted as Windows Messenger, and today renamed yet again to Windows Live Messenger. Regardless of which version you may have, if you wish to find me using this program, you can so do by my email address, tjordan@carolinaregion.com.AOL Instant MessengerIf you are one of those users who hasn’t upgraded their internet connection or computer since 1967, then it’s likely you’re still using AOL instant messenger. While I don’t use the program myself, I do have a program that can allow me to talk to AOL users. If you’d like to find me on AOL, i’m listed as “gvegastommy“. Easy enough huh? And yes, that name too was born out of my younger days and I definitely don’t like AOL enough to deal with registering again under a new name.ICQLastly, if you’re an ICQ user, I’d definitely like to meet you, just to say hello to the other two people still using this platform! For those of you who don’t know ICQ, it stands for “I Seek You” and has been around on the internet since the invention of messaging programs. I was one of the first beta-testers for ICQ back in the day, God it must have been June of 1996 I guess. My current UIN (universal internet number… yeah, that’s how old this program is) is 1504282. I don’t check my ICQ account daily, but I log into it about once a week to see who’s sent me messages and to respond in kind.

For now, I’m going to get back to work. Check out the blog for more info.
