About Me (Kinda)
Well, how do you put all this together in one page? To summarize who I am, you’d need to know what I am. I consider myself one of those people better defined by actions than by an altruistic sense of who I wish I was. The “about me” section of this web site has sometimes gone so long between changes that when I come back and see it myself I think “that’s not me.” I’ve learned in recent years that it should be more aptly titled “About Me At The Moment” but I think that’s too long for most people to want to use. So, here’s what there is to know about me right now.
I’m thirty years old this year, quickly encroaching on 31 no matter how hard I try to put the brakes on this race for wisdom. I’m wise enough I feel, so I’d just as soon remain where I am for a decade or two.
As far as what I do, that too is complex. I’m… adaptive I guess. That’s the best I can say at the moment. I’d like to think that I am many things to many people.
Profesionally, I am a Project Manager for a company called Applied Technologies. Basically, they fly me around the world to work in places that most people don’t want to. lol. I design and lead project teams for Fiber Optic Networking, Data Centers, and other only-interesting-if-you’re-a-computer-geek kind of things.
I’m Easy Going…

This picture here shows me best.. I’m easy going. I like life when it’s fast paced and dirty and I like it when it’s cool, calm, and rolling along at its own natural pace.
I’m a Hard Worker…
This is me from one of our jobs in Africa. I’m hot, tired, sweaty, and covered in the dirt and mud from crawling in sewer lines in a third world country while trying to install fiber cable for a customer company. I get a lot of flack for it, but I LIKE to work with my team in the mud and the sweat and the sand. I’m a firm believer that very few people can effectively lead from a desk. As part of my job I have to lead people and ask them to work in what are sometimes some pretty bad conditions, so I do it with them.
I love my team. They’re great people and THEY are what make the job worth doing… not the job itself.
I’m a father…
I’m the proud father of an eleven year old little girl named Hannah. If you don’t know me personally then I can’t begin to describe this part of my life, but at the end of the day I know I did something right. She’s great… and never lets me forget it. She ice skates better than me, she hang glides better than me, and I’m sure the list will keep growing as time goes on.
And that’s ROOT BEER you goobs.. relax! Hell, I don’t even drink so what makes you think I’d let her do it?
I’m a boyfriend…
I’m also the less-pretty half of of a beautiful lady named April, who shares my life and my antics with me. This is another of those ways I know I’m slowly becoming the person I want to be.
In addition to being my girlfriend and my partner in just about everything, she’s the one who keeps life going for me when I’m gone. She keeps in touch with me, makes sure life continues on at the house, and keeps the cats out of my recliner!
She’s been a really awesome part of my life and has helped to shape other parts that make me who I am.
I’m a family man…
My family means everything to me. I owe who and what I am to the people who raised me, instilled values in me, and supported me all those times I almost fell down while always helping me climb higher. My mother is probably my closest relative because she’s the one I see the most and has probably done more for me than any mother should have to, and I love her for it.
I’m a clown…
I can’t help it. I like to laugh. I like to enjoy myself. I love to work hard and to play harder. If you can’t enjoy all the parts of your life then you’re living it wrong. So, I’m a little bit of a clown I suppose… there are worse things to be.
I’m a Cowboy…
lol.. yeah, that’s me. My job makes me very tech savvy, so I tend to overcompensate by trying to remain as country as I can when I’m not working. I have more cowboy hats than business suits, more boots than loafers, and more belts than most women I know.
I grew up with the opportunity to work horses at a young age and never lost the love of it. I’d quit my job right now if the right opportunity presented itself to me to work in that arena full time.
I’m not a redneck or a hillbilly. I’m smarter than most, pretty good looking, and I know what the X means inside my Stetson! lol.
I’m a friend…
I think this one is the most important of all. You can be many things to many people; their father, son, brother, co-worker, employer, subordinate, or a myriad of other things but it you can’t be a friend then you’ve got nothing to show for any of it.
I have the ability to call a great group of people my friend, which I think is a larger accomplishment than any other I’ve ever made. My friends are my lifeline to my sanity. From eight to eighty, they fall all in between and come from all walks of life.
